From the meeting
Council was scheduled to establish a Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee focused on residential solid waste, wildlife attractants, and bear-related complaints. The draft terms of reference called for a committee that could review collection practices, cart storage requirements, wildlife-resistant options, and recommend service or policy changes. Staff said the committee would be formed by resolution and recruitment would start after establishment.
The first meeting was being aimed at early 2027, which makes this a live pre-budget planning signal.
