THE 30-SECOND BRIEF
Granville County will hold an August 3, 2026 public hearing to close out its 2020 CDBG Economic Development grant supporting Nugget Comfort LLC. The county received $460,000 and loaned it to Nugget to renovate a 150,000 sq ft manufacturing building in Butner, including electrical, plumbing, drywall, flooring, and painting. The project is completed and created 43 jobs, with over half for low-to-moderate income residents, so this item is mainly grant compliance and performance reporting rather than a new procurement.
Renovation scope (mechanical, electrical, finishes) is complete; hearing is to obtain a closeout report for the CDBG grant.
