From the meeting
At the September 22, 2026 meeting the Downtown Development Authority raised concerns about unsightly utility lines in downtown Newnan. Staff said the issue appeared to be mainly telecommunication lines and that a similar process was used after the tornado, with a meeting held with all telecom companies to address hanging wires. The city manager said pole attachment agreements with Newnan Utilities may already cover some of the issue, and the city attorney said he would review those agreements.
This is a live coordination item with possible follow-on work for telecom and pole-attachment vendors.

A pre-RFP is an early indicator that a government agency is planning a purchase — a project discussed in a board meeting, a budget line item, a new hire, or a grant award — captured before a formal RFP or bid is published. Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
