From the meeting
At its September 24, 2026 meeting the Board authorized up to $5 million for Phase 1 of a resiliency project to replace and relocate electrical equipment that powers the City of Newark stormwater pumping station serving flood protection for Newark Liberty International Airport. The work will move the equipment above the Federal Emergency Management Agency base flood elevation and add redundant utility feeds. The Board also authorized negotiations with Newark on ownership and operations, and said a later phase may add an emergency generator.
This is a decided infrastructure job with follow-on utility and electrical work still possible.
