From the meeting
At its September 14, 2026 meeting, the board received an update that the new water treatment plant was connected to the distribution system on September 1, 2026 and is producing potable water in compliance with State Water Board standards. City staff has assumed operation, the contractor has completed all but one tie-in, and demolition of the old plant has started. Screens were attempted on September 9, 2026 and are being rescheduled because of coating and equipment coordination issues.
This is an implementation update with follow-on work still underway.
