From the meeting
At its October 8, 2026 meeting, South Coast Water District introduced and adopted Ordinance No. 236 to prohibit potable water for irrigation of nonfunctional turf on covered public, CII, HOA, CID, and community service properties. The $150,000 FY27 effort is funded from the Water Conservation Budget.
The General Manager was authorized to implement and administer the ordinance, so the next commercial need is compliance support, outreach, and enforcement administration as the January 1, 2027 phase-in begins.
