From the meeting
At its October 26, 2026 meeting, council reviewed committee appointments for the Peace Regional Waste system, which oversees the management and operation of the regional waste service in Sunrise County. The item is not a purchase, but it keeps regional solid waste operations on the radar and shows who is representing Peace River in the governance structure. Sellers in hauling, landfill operations, recycling, or waste consulting should track this committee because it governs the service direction.

Questions about this project
What is a pre-RFP?
A pre-RFP is an early indicator that a government agency is planning a purchase — a project discussed in a board meeting, a budget line item, a new hire, or a grant award — captured before a formal RFP or bid is published. Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
