From the meeting
At its October 20, 2026 meeting, the council scheduled action on Parlier Unified School District's request to hold the 2026 Veterans 5K Run/Walk on November 7, 2026 and waive associated city fees. The packet said the route needs temporary street closures, barricades, traffic control, and Police Department review, and that Police Chief Garza had already approved the sound amplification permit. The event was expected to draw about 150 participants.
The practical next step is the city and police review of closure and safety requirements, plus any barricade and support services.
