From the meeting
At its October 19, 2026 meeting, the Omak City Council considered Resolution 64-2026 to grant Okanogan Community Homeless Shelters $12,000 for emergency shelter and related services. The agreement runs through December 31, 2027 and allows funds for shelter operations, utilities, staffing, meals, case management, and safety measures. This is a funded public-purpose support program, so the useful follow-up is with the city and shelter on reporting, service expansion, and any longer-term funding need after the grant term.
