From the meeting
At its October 14, 2026 meeting the committee considered allocating $253,000 in RM2 funds for final design of the Quarry Road Connection at Palo Alto Transit Center. The project would build a new bus-only roadway from the Palo Alto Transit Center to El Camino Real and add pedestrian and bicycle upgrades. Final design was expected to begin after preliminary engineering was finalized in November 2026.
The City of Palo Alto is the implementer, with Stanford University as landowner and funding partner.

Questions about this project
What is a pre-RFP?
A pre-RFP is an early indicator that a government agency is planning a purchase — a project discussed in a board meeting, a budget line item, a new hire, or a grant award — captured before a formal RFP or bid is published. Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
