From the meeting
At its October 13, 2026 meeting, the council considered a request from the Buddhist Social Services Center and the Vietnamese American United Buddhist Congregation to hold a two-day Buddha's Birthday Festival at Garden Grove Park on April 24-25, 2027. Staff said the organizers would reimburse direct City costs and, if approved, the City Manager would sign an agreement covering parking, insurance, allowed activities, and cost recovery. The source also notes a proposed April 23-26, 2027 Vesak Festival schedule with setup and takedown details.
