From the meeting
At its October 13, 2026 meeting the board was asked to approve EKI Environment and Water, Inc. for preliminary design engineering on the Miramontes Potable Water Consolidated Storage Project. The staff report set the not-to-exceed fee at $273,000 and said the work would cover geotechnical investigation, survey, and a basis of design report.
EKI's concept replaces the Alves and Miramontes tanks with one new 2-million-gallon prestressed concrete tank, plus a new pump station and about 2,400 linear feet of 12-inch pipeline. Preliminary design was expected to finish by summer 2027.
