From the meeting
At its March 17, 2026 and later meetings, the commission discussed hiring a zoning administrator and planning enforcement position for the township. Josh VanCamp had contacted candidates and nearby townships, and by June the board was still working through the search. This is a personnel buying trigger that can affect future zoning workflow, ordinance implementation, and related consulting or software needs.

A pre-RFP is an early indicator that a government agency is planning a purchase — a project discussed in a board meeting, a budget line item, a new hire, or a grant award — captured before a formal RFP or bid is published. Acting on pre-RFPs gives SLED and B2G vendors months of lead time to build relationships and shape requirements.
