From the meeting

At its August 17, 2026 meeting, City Council was asked to introduce a first-reading ordinance amendment to shift historic district minor-work approval authority from the Building Inspector to the Community Development Director. The HDC had already adopted the amended staff approval list on July 15, 2026 and recommended the change. The amendment also removes certificates of appropriateness for tree planting, routine landscaping, and low-voltage landscape lighting.

The decision is still open pending second reading and adoption at the next meeting.
