From the meeting
At its August 11, 2026 meeting, the board discussed the Fourth Street Drainage Project and said the $248,110 Jones & Smith Construction Co. bid would be modified to fit the budget with extra Powell Bill funds. Mayor Bender said the board was not approving the plan, only the contract documents, and members were not comfortable awarding until they saw the plans.
He said McDavid Associates would be told that the board wants the plans before it awards the contract.
