From the meeting
An October 26, 2026 budget amendment proposed $192,996 for the VA PreK Initiative - 36 kids, with the note Preschool State Match - $192,996. The stated purpose was to provide quality preschool programs for at-risk four-year-olds. School board approval was blank on the form, so the funding action was still pending on that date.
This is a concrete grant-funded preschool expansion signal tied to 36 children and state match funding.
