Green Infrastructure Center Leads $1.2M Urban Forestry Effort

The Rhode Island DEM’s Urban and Community Forestry Program is partnering with the Green Infrastructure Center under a $1.2 million IRA-funded technical assistance program to support tree canopy planning and implementation in eight municipalities. GIC provides mapping, ordinance audits, workshops, and strategic canopy plans followed by community-based tree planting.
