The Commissioners of Oxford approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Talbot County Sheriff's Office to provide a full-time Resident Deputy and dedicated law enforcement coverage beginning July 1, 2026. The Town will fund the deputy's salary and benefits, plus up to $150,000 for additional overtime coverage per year, with terms renegotiated annually. This contract replaces the Oxford Police Department's independent operations with a hybrid policing solution managed by the Sheriff's Office.
