SUMMARY

The Kansas Department of Transportation is seeking bids for milling and hot mix asphalt (HMA) overlay on US-281, starting from the junction of US-160 to the Barber/Pratt County line in Barber County, Kansas. The project spans a net length of 16.151 miles (State Project Number U281-004 KA 8099-01, Proposal Number 526106505, Call Order 650). Work includes asphalt surfacing items (27,066 tons of HMA overlay SR-12.5A PG 70-28, 10,326 tons of milling, quality control testing, emulsified asphalt SS-1HP, asphalt core, air void and density pay adjustments, temporary pavement marking, rock pavement edge wedge), rumble strips (milled asphalt centerline and rumble strips), and extensive multi-component pavement marking. The contract requires completion within 45 restricted days and 55 total contract working days.
