SUMMARY
Southern Earth Sciences, Inc. (SES) provides geotechnical investigation results and foundation recommendations for a proposed 100-foot metal frame pedestrian bridge on 15th Street in Mexico Beach, FL. The investigation included two cone soundings to depths of 60-70 feet, direct push borings, and laboratory analysis (moisture content, sieve analysis, organic content). The report recommends 12-inch or 14-inch square prestressed concrete piles for the deep foundation, with allowable compressive and tensile capacities provided in Table I for embedment depths of 15, 20, and 25 feet.
