SUMMARY
The City of Lima, Ohio is soliciting sealed bids for the procurement of one (1) new and unused armored SWAT van for the Lima Police Department. The base vehicle specification is a Ford Transit T350 High Roof DRW (2023 or newer) with a 3.5L V6 Eco Boost engine and All Wheel Drive. Armoring requirements include NIJ III/B6 level ballistic steel and composite materials for the safety cell, floor protection against grenades, and transparent armor. Additional features include upgraded brakes and suspension to handle armor weight, run-flat tire inserts, a 100W siren/PA system, and seating for 10 passengers plus driver and passenger. Bids must be submitted to the Purchasing Department at 50 Town Square by March 12, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. Lima Time. The contract includes a 24-month/unlimited miles armor/up-fit warranty.
