The Florida Department of Transportation has awarded the City of St Augustine up to $500,000 in state funding to design a shared-use nonmotorized trail connecting the Historic District from US 1 to the Bridge of Lions. The agreement runs through June 30, 2028, and requires the city to complete the design and assume long-term maintenance responsibilities for the trail.
