Leon County increased the solid waste tipping fee charged to the City of Tallahassee from $71.25 to $78.91 per ton, which is expected to cost city residents and businesses an additional $1.35 million in FY27. The higher fee will be passed through in the form of increased monthly solid waste service charges beginning October 1, 2026.
