Springfield Sports Commission to promote sports events

The City of Springfield has contracted with the Greater Springfield Area Sports Commission, Inc. to promote sports and sporting events within the city. The contract, effective from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, provides the contractor with an annual sum equal to 4.5% of the city's hotel and motel gross receipts tax.
