SFRTA, FDOT Outline 10-Year Tri-Rail Funding Transition
Trusted by teams at
Description
SFRTA and the Florida Department of Transportation are negotiating a Memorandum of Understanding that will frame a 10-year transition of Tri-Rail operating and maintenance funding from the state to a dedicated local source by 2037. Under the framework, FDOT would provide a defined contribution for the first five years starting in 2027 and then fully end its operating support as SFRTA and the three counties assume financial responsibility and receive a perpetual rail corridor easement and related assets.
