SUMMARY

Emmet County is soliciting bids for the McGulpin Lighthouse Parking Lot Expansion project (Project No. 23216 / 523216.B) located at 500 Headlands Rd, Mackinaw City, MI. The scope of work includes clearing and grubbing, earthwork, grading, HMA paving for parking and walking paths, aggregate walking surfaces, stormwater management (retention basins A1, B2, C3, D4), soil erosion and sedimentation control (SESC), and turf restoration. A significant portion of the work involves coordination with Enbridge Crossing requirements due to the proximity of Line 5 underground gas pipelines, requiring specific geotextile/geogrid layers and 5-foot clear zones. The project also includes a new 8-foot wide HMA bike path and associated signage. Bidding documents were originally dated July 7, 2023, with subsequent addenda issued in August 2023.
