SUMMARY

The City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations is seeking a qualified professional firm to create a neighborhood-specific heating decarbonization plan for four to five micro-neighborhoods, support implementation in three to five micro-neighborhoods, and support the City's intervention in a future DTE Gas Rate Case by serving as an expert witness on neighborhood decarbonization and non-pipeline alternatives. The scope includes analyzing existing fossil gas infrastructure, avoided gas and electric infrastructure costs, electric grid capacity, utility bill impacts, and developing a value proposition for residents transitioning to sustainable heating solutions like geothermal and cold climate air source heat pumps. The total allocated funding for this work is $125,000, with all work to be completed within 12-18 months of contracting.
