SUMMARY
The Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE), Alabama Reading Initiative Section, seeks proposals for high-quality professional learning in structured literacy (Phase 3) under RFP ALSDE 2026-08. The scope includes face-to-face and/or virtual educator training in phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, oral language, writing, dyslexia, and structured literacy, targeting in-service teachers, post-secondary instructors, reading specialists, administrators, pre-K teachers, and literacy support personnel. Programs must align with the Alabama Literacy Act, the 2021 Alabama Course of Study: English Language Arts, and exclude the three-cueing system pursuant to ACT #2026-211. Initial contracts are for up to two years with up to three additional years of renewals. The submission deadline is June 10, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., with questions due by May 26, 2026.
