ArtsWA and Path with Art are leading a two‑year Social Prescribing / Art Pharmacy initiative to integrate arts experiences into healthcare as a reimbursable community intervention, with Social Rx providing the tech-enabled referral platform. An MOU has established the Washington State Arts Prescribing Advisory Group, including funders such as 4Culture, Allen Family Philanthropies, the Nesholm Family Foundation, and the Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation, and ArtsWA is responsible for contract oversight, performance monitoring, provider network development, and certification. Committed 2026 funding includes 150000 from Nesholm, 50000 from the Biller Family Foundation, and 50000 from 4Culture, with additional support pending from Allen Family Philanthropies focused on communications, outreach, and evaluation.ArtsWA and Path with Art are meeting with Social Rx’s CEO to finalize the professional services agreement, and the project is initially focused on King County with the intent to scale statewide. This creates near-term opportunities for evaluation, communications, training, and network-building vendors, and longer-term potential for technology integration, managed care engagement, and expansion services as the model matures.
