CARD is revising its cooperative agreement with the City of Chico and issuing a change order to Slater & Son to add about $2.8M of Garner Lane frontage work to the Aquatic Center contract. The City will front costs; CARD and Courtesy Motors will reimburse based on frontage shares over up to 10 years with interest. The main construction contractor is set, but there is scope for subs, materials, traffic control, and related professional support as the corridor is built out.
City funds project initially using Fire Victims Trust, Gas Tax, and Public Infrastructure Replacement funds. CARD’s share is nearly $3M lower than standalone delivery by original estimates.
