The interlocal agreement has a five-year term from July 1, 2019. At least 12 months prior to expiration, each Board of Education must provide written notice if it desires renegotiation. If five or more Boards express a desire to renegotiate, the Interlocal continues under a renegotiated agreement and retains property; withdrawing districts are not entitled to assets or unencumbered cash. If fewer than five Boards seek renegotiation, the Interlocal is disorganized at expiration and property and funds are distributed per student FTE.
