Twisp Considers 10-Year Salmon Restoration Pact with MSRF

The Town of Twisp is considering a ten-year Landowner Agreement with the Methow Salmon Recovery Foundation to construct and maintain the Sugar Channels Reconnection Project Phase 1 on town property, pending Council approval. Under this agreement, MSRF will design, build, monitor, and maintain salmon habitat enhancements—including wood structures, channel grading, and riparian planting—subject to state and federal grant requirements and long-term monitoring. Project construction is targeted for late summer or early fall 2025 and agreement term runs ten years from completion.
