The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is constructing Murrieta Creek Phase 2B with $47.8 million in federal funds, under a cost-share agreement in which the Riverside County Flood Control District contributes $14.6 million plus utility and right-of-way costs. The project provides 100‑year flood protection and includes channel improvements, environmental restoration, and recreational trails, with the District to operate and maintain the facilities after turnover.
