Riverside approved a Sponsorship Agreement with the Riverside Area Chamber of Commerce to support a free, public, family-friendly World Cup watch party and community celebration on or about July 3, 2026, at or near Morton Amphitheater. The agreement authorizes a city sponsorship contribution not to exceed 76889, to be used by the Chamber for event-related expenses, while explicitly making the Chamber the organizer, promoter, and contracting party. This sets up a substantial, grant- and sponsorship-funded community event and clarifies that the city is limiting its role to funding and municipal support.While the primary sponsorship is decided, there is spend flowing through the Chamber for vendors including event production, staging, audio/visual, security, food trucks, and marketing. Suppliers can approach the Chamber directly for this event, and use the city’s World Cup focus as a wedge for related services like public safety technology, crowd management, and community engagement tools.

Chamber will contract with Live Nation or its affiliate for Morton Amphitheater use and manages all vendors; City’s funds cannot be used for non-event, private, or political purposes.
