NMJC’s Five‑Year Capital Plan includes a new cafeteria project to modernize campus dining and support enrollment growth, with a listed cost of $16,000,000 fully funded by Mill Levy. The project will construct and equip a 16,000 square‑foot non‑instructional space, separating food service from the existing Ben Alexander Student Learning Center and enabling later renovation of that facility. The plan shows design beginning around January 2027 and construction running through April 2028, but no architect, builder, or food‑service consultant is named yet.This is a forward‑looking opportunity for design firms, CMAR/general contractors, and kitchen and point‑of‑sale technology providers to engage around program development, kitchen and servery design, and integration with student housing and central plant expansion. Vendors can also anticipate follow‑on opportunities when the vacated Ben Alexander space is renovated into a modern Student Learning Center.

Project is separate from the Ben Alexander Student Learning Center Renovation, which is scheduled for 2030 in the same plan.
