BCWD’s plan calls for implementing watershed and in-lake improvements for several impaired lakes, particularly Long Lake and the northern chain (South School Section, Goggins, Benz, Lynch), guided by existing lake management and watershed restoration/protection plans. Long Lake is impaired for nutrients and newly for chloride, and there is a specific directive to revisit inlet and tributary sampling, investigate sediment and heavy metals, and evaluate high-water mitigation options for flood protection. Lake management expenditures total about $582K over the plan period, plus additional stormwater/erosion dollars tied to lake tributaries.No vendors are yet identified, so there is opportunity for limnology and water-quality consultants, stormwater engineers, in‑lake treatment vendors, and chloride management specialists to help refine BATHTUB modeling, design load-reduction projects, and implement shoreline and watershed BMPs around these lakes.

BCWD intends to develop BATHTUB models, manage watershed and internal loads, manage lake levels (including Long Lake flood risk evaluation), and run periodic aquatic plant and shoreline assessments. Chloride reduction strategies are tied to both regulatory provisions and outreach to transportation agencies and private applicators.
