At its May 27, 2026 meeting, CAPRI’s Board reviewed recommended insurance requirement frameworks for common member contract categories, as part of a shift from an advisory risk management model to a structured, uniform standard across its membership. The Board agreed to circulate updated requirements and an implementation timeline to member districts, solicit feedback during a defined comment period, refine policy language, and bring the item back to the September 2026 meeting for further review. This initiative will eventually require member districts to update insurance and risk-transfer language in their vendor and service contracts across parks and recreation operations.Vendors offering contract management platforms, legal drafting support, insurance certificate tracking, risk consulting, and training can help CAPRI and its districts implement standardized clauses, manage compliance, and update templates and workflows as the new uniform standards are finalized.
