City considers VPPA proposal with US Solar

The Climate Action Plan Steering Committee reviewed a pending proposal from US Solar for a Virtual Power Purchase Agreement that would commit the City to a fixed energy rate for a defined quantity of kWh starting as early as 2030. The offering is being revised in response to Xcel program changes, and staff plan to return with a formal request to the Common Council, including provision of Renewable Energy Credits.
