NOVACOM Communications reported that Motorola's corporate vendor designation of Walker Communications as the Lake Egypt Fire Protection District's Motorola P25 vendor prevented it from submitting a competitive Motorola APX bid. As a result, NOVACOM did not participate in the sealed bid competition for fifteen portable radios.
