Variance sought for larger electronic message sign

Northwest Signs & Awards seeks a variance to increase the allowable square footage for an electronic message center (EMC) to be mounted on a monument sign at the entrance of Hays High School at 2300 E. 13th St. The proposed sign has a height of 13' 10" and an EMC of 50 Sq. Ft. on each side of the monument sign, exceeding the city's sign code of 12' maximum height.
