Weaver Union to Operate Shared Special Day Class

Weaver Union School District entered into a multi-district Memorandum of Understanding with Planada Elementary and Le Grand Union Elementary School Districts to operate a shared TK–1st grade Special Day Class program for students with mild to moderate disabilities. Under the agreement, Weaver operates the program, collects ADA, and shares operating costs 50/25/25, while each district of residence funds individualized services and required transportation. The MOU runs from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029 with automatic three-year renewals unless notice of non-renewal is provided.

Initial term is three fiscal years (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2029). The MOU automatically renews in subsequent three-year terms unless a district gives written notice of non-renewal to the other two districts by March 1 of the final year of the current term. Any district may terminate with 60 days’ written notice, and there is a separate one-year notice requirement for termination due to staffing reductions or programmatic changes.
