The New Jersey Commission on Brain Injury Research awarded Rutgers $180,000 under pilot grant CBIR26PIL002 to support Li Cai’s pilot study of Cas13d-mediated Sarm1 silencing as a transformative therapy for TBI. The project will deliver gene-silencing tools to neurons to protect axons and improve functional recovery in mouse models.
