Description
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) entered into Agreement 7CA07782 with the County of Marin Fire Department to provide wildland fire protection services on State Responsibility Area lands. The State will pay up to $71,414,857 over fiscal years 2026/27 through 2028/29, funded by the General Fund and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, with detailed provisions for emergency operations, mutual aid, and incident billing.

Initial term covers fiscal years 2026/27–2028/29; contract period may not exceed three years under PRC Section 4133. If neither party gives 12 months’ written notice of non-renewal and a new agreement is not yet executed, the agreement automatically extends on the same terms until a new agreement is approved by DGS or for up to six months after the original term end, contingent on lawful appropriations. Either party may terminate with 12 months’ notice or immediately for cause.
