Cache Valley Transit District (Connect Transit) is in the midst of a multi‑year Transit Route Study led by Nelson/Nygaard to comprehensively review and redesign all fixed‑route and demand‑response services. Phase I engagement in spring 2026 is focused on understanding needs and priorities from riders, non‑riders, operators, municipal partners, and other stakeholders, with strong demand emerging for later evening service, more weekend service, higher frequencies, and potential new links to places like Brigham City and Wellsville. The study will test multiple alternative service networks, consider new transfer points outside downtown Logan, and explore alternative service models such as expanded microtransit/POOL zones.Preliminary service recommendations will be prepared in time to feed the Fall 2026 budget process, with final completion planned for early 2027, setting the stage for a major operations plan update and follow‑on capital, technology, and fleet procurements. For vendors in planning, scheduling, ridership analytics, microtransit operations, ITS/AVL, stop amenities, and change‑management consulting, this is an early window to influence how the network is redesigned and what tools and infrastructure will be needed to support the new service model.

Board will be heavily engaged in prioritization and tradeoff decisions starting mid‑2026, with Phase 2 public engagement on alternative network scenarios in late 2026.
