Watkinsville’s financing agreement with the State Road and Tollway Authority, which administers the GTIB grant and loan for the Simonton Bridge Road project, remains in effect with amendments approved in 2025. SRTA recently denied the City’s request to add a public restroom and public art to the GTIB-funded scope, prompting the City to seek SPLOST III funds for those amenities.
