Montpelier's 2017 Development Agreement with Caledonia Spirits, Inc. funded water and sewer upgrades, a public road, and a rail crossing, with costs to be recovered from the company's property tax and utility payments. By February 2023 the City had recouped more than its investment, including $100,000 from the Community Development Fund slated for repayment in FY 2022-2023.
