Under an interlocal agreement with Asheboro, Randolph County will guarantee up to $16,447,202.20 in construction costs for Phase 1 of the Highway 64 East water transmission line, which is currently being built by Garney Construction. The project is critical to supplying water to eastern Randolph County and the Chatham Advanced Manufacturing site.
