USGS awarded agreement for Honokōhau stream gage

The Commission on Water Resource Management is applying a $140,000 fine owed by Maui Land & Pineapple Company, Inc. toward a Collaborative Agreement under which U.S. Geological Survey will install, operate, and maintain a new stream gage below Diversion 770 on Honokōhau Stream. Under the four-year agreement, effective no earlier than July 1, 2026 and expiring September 30, 2030, MLP will fund an estimated $149,400 so USGS can perform site work, monitoring, and publish real-time data.
