The Commission on Water Resource Management proposes to enter into a Joint Funding Agreement with the U.S. Geological Survey to analyze groundwater flow in Maui’s Central aquifer sector. The three-year cooperative study runs from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2029, with a total cost of $442,000, including $399,000 from the Commission and $43,000 in USGS matching funds, and will produce a Scientific Investigations Report, model data release, and stakeholder meetings.
