The Town retained engineering firm CIMA + in 2025 to design a floating solar power system for the Thornbury Wastewater Treatment Plant and secure EPCOR grid connectivity approvals, using $22,000 of a $25,000 study budget. CIMA+ also provided an engineering estimate for constructing a 250 kW solar installation and associated studies.
